For those that don’t know, Mark A. Randall was a stalwart campus pastor at Murray State for several decades, starting in the 1970’s and running until his passing in 2014. For us (Todd & Cassie Broker) Mark served as our faithful campus pastor during our time in college (2004-2008). And our experience was so impactful and meaningful that we then served under him in ministry as part of his volunteer leadership team right up until 2014.

We have always believed, and continue to believe, that Mark was a true spiritual hero on Murray State’s campus for all those years, importantly allowing God to flow through him to influence innumerable students away from the kingdom of darkness and towards the Kingdom of Light during his tenure. Cassie and I are two such students whose lives are forever changed because of Mark’s Godliness, faithfulness and commitment.

We think it’s important to honor such a man and his Godly legacy. After much prayer, and with the help of our board and some dedicated alumni, we feel that the way to honor Mark during this season is to establish a new student campus ministry internship program in his honor. We are calling it the MARCIS AWARD (Mark A. Randall College Internship for Students Award).

The MARCIS AWARD is a student internship within the 212 Campus Ministry. For those that are not aware, 212 is a ministry that is different in name, but similar in spirit to what Mark led all those years at Murray State. This internship is designed to familiarize and train a carefully selected college student in the nuances of campus ministry at Murray State. Campus ministry was near and dear to Mark’s heart, and we feel that training up a special student, in a semester-long internship, and showing them how to effectively reach their campus for Jesus is literally the best way we can honor the man of God who taught us to do the same thing all those years ago.

Our goal is to raise enough money to fund at least one student for each semester for the foreseeable future. To be able to get the most out of the program, any student recipient will serve between 10-15 hours per week with the ministry for the entire semester. These hours plus some small administrative expenses would cost approximately $3,000 per student per semester.

To give to this initiative directly, you can mail a check to PO Box 1398, Murray, KY, 42071 and put in the memo line MARCIS AWARD. Or, you can give online by clicking the direct giving link below.

Thank you so much for your prayers and consideration for financial support for this program to honor Mark Randall and to bless the 212 Campus Ministry, which continues to honor Mark's legacy at Murray State to this day.

Thank you with love - Todd & Cassie Broker
